Open Gardens 2025

There were large gardens, middle-sized gardens, small gardens, tiny courtyards - and the manor!  There were carefully curated flowers and wild meadows, lovingly tended vegetables and fruit.  There were high sheltering walls enclosing magical spaces and gaps in hedges giving magnificent views to the fields and hills beyond.

Back at the hall there was a splendid display showing the myriad art and craft skills of villagers and their neighbours.  We were invited to try some of these for ourselves.  And then there was the food!  Delicious lunches, cakes and cream teas restored  the weary and gave us the strength to return to the church in the evening, because this year our Open Gardens weekend included two extra events.

On Saturday, Jonathan Bean introduced the latest in his brilliant series of photographic exhibitions and also his book "Hidden Stories of Harberton".  And the weekend concluded with Choral Evensong in St Andrew's , led by the combined choir of our Totnes Mission Community.  Read more about this in News.

A weekend to remember!
