The church clock has not been working well since the clock mechanism was repaired. The drive mechanism linking the two clock faces was sticking.
On Friday 14 July, Luke and two very brave abseilers from the Cumbria Clock Company, aided by Jim, dismantled the clock hands and the drive mechanism so they can be repaired in the workshop in Cumbria.
The weather on Friday morning was appalling, but they were not deterred. We look forward to a fully functioning clock, with both faces telling the same time."
