Christmas Tree Festival 2018
And what an extravaganza it was. There was so much to do and see in the five days from Wednesday 28 November to Sunday 2 December. The delights included:
→ Sheep Trail – finding a sheep in people’s gardens and windows - some very big and some very small
→ Christmas Trees – there were even more than the first year, all decorated by local groups, in the church all day, every day
→ Storytelling under the Christmas Trees – led by our very own Helen Sands, followed by an activity for over 3s
→ Christmas Cards – Specially commissioned prints from our very talented Carole Oldfield
→ Cards depicting our church and village – drawn by our equally talented Jonathan Bean. A perfect card for all seasons, or just to keep a set for yourself
→ Homemade soup and bread lunch in the church – made by the clever and generous women and men in our village
→ Homemade cakes, biscuits, tea and coffee in the church – again, made by the clever and generous women and men in our village
→ Belshazzar’s Feast concert – in the Parish Hall . All the proceeds were kindly donated to the Tick Tock Appeal
→ Sheep Trail results and carol singing with mulled wine – Everyone came together for a glorious celebration of the joy of community and sharing.
